Abitus, formerly U.S. Education Network, was founded by Mr. Toyoaki Miwa (CPA, CIA) in 1995, and started its business as a CPA review course provider. Since then, it has increased the depth and quality of its educational programs and become one of Japan's leading professional/management education companies. It has expanded its domain to other professional qualifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) , Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certification in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The most recent developments include establishment of courses for the California Bar examination in association with Florida Coastal School of Law, and the MBA (Master of Business Administration) program joining hands with the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
In 2008, the company merged Career Access, Inc, its job search services subsidiary to provide a “total human resource solution service”.
In 2012, Abitus acquired Tokyo Central Japanese Language School, to expand its scope of business to language educatioin.
